From what I can tell, these “style” of head units are much of the same from multiple manufactures – I believe they’re all made by the same company, but re-branded slightly. BMW Head Unit Useful Information

Xtrons Head Unit

Extension In most cases these head units are an easy enough switch. However, some versions of the E53/X5 or 3 Series/E46/E90s will require a 5-meter extension, if your vehicle has a factory fitted Sat-Nav. This is because the stereo connections are situated in the boot, near the battery, which is quite far from the head unit. A recommended extension would be the EXL005 is compatible with most of the BMW vehicles. Relocation When you are preparing the BMW E46 for car stereo installation, you will need to relocate your heater controls. One way of doing this is to park them beneath the lip of the dashboard where the storage pocket is located. Relocation kits can be purchased; however, the heater controls can be clipped in place without one.

Xtrons Android 10 Update

Amplification If you have an amplified, or alternative, speaker system connection the adaptor may not fit the unit. Again, adaptors can be purchased (sometimes they need a little modification) to be wired to the supplied ISO instead. This helps retain this option. Any fixes you choose to make, in terms of adapting your vehicle and its components to our units, are not Xtrons responsibility, by the way.
